Episode Description

Our greatest transformations often begin with the moments we never planned for.

I recently joined Jen Weinstein for an honest conversation about the many chapters of my life—from fleeing communist Bulgaria as a child to building a successful marketing agency, navigating burnout, and ultimately reinventing my life through health and wellness.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe how many versions of myself I’ve lived. At 11 years old, my family escaped communism in search of a better future. Years later, I built a career in technology, led a nationally recognized marketing agency, and achieved many of the goals I thought defined success.

But behind that success, my health was quietly falling apart.

After years of chronic stress, emotional eating, and undiagnosed perimenopause, I gained more than 80 pounds, landed in the emergency room twice believing I was having heart attacks, and realized my body could no longer keep up with the life I had built.

That experience changed everything.

In this episode, Jen and I discuss the lessons I’ve learned through every stage of my journey and why true success isn’t measured by titles, achievements, or the number on a scale—it’s measured by how healthy, strong, and fulfilled you feel.

In this episode, we discuss:
• Growing up as a refugee and starting over in a new country
• Building a successful business during the dot-com era
• The realities of burnout and undiagnosed perimenopause
• Why emotional eating isn’t simply about food
• Why strength and muscle matter more than chasing a smaller number on the scale
• What it really means to reinvent yourself in midlife

I hope this episode reminds you that your story isn’t defined by your hardest moments. Sometimes they’re simply the beginning of the life you were always meant to live.
